Earthworks
Earthworks explores the ambiguity of language. It is a work made out of earth, and therefore an 'earthwork' according to the paradigm of art history. It is also the word 'work' written twice out of earth, becoming 'earth works'. This playful duality is taken even further when the location of the piece is taken into consideration. Earthworks sits directly below the offices of academic staff, whose dreamy glances out of the window become a cheeky reminder to work.
